Bollywood actress Malaika Arora Khan presents a creation by Indian designer Vikram Phadnis at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW), in Mumbai, India, 02 March 2012. Some 83 designers are showcasing their collections at the LFW Summer/Resort 2012 until 06 March.
She’s called the item queen, but Malaika Arora feels that Kareena Kapoor is the right choice for the item number in ‘Dabangg2’.
"I really like Kareena a lot. It is very difficult to restructure Munni. So we tried to do something new and different and roped in the ‘Chamak Challo’. However, Arbaaz will be taking the final call on how the song has to be placed in the film once the recording of the item number is over.”
And while ‘Munni’ has been one of Malaika’s own favourite, the item queen doesn’t mind Kareena doing a ‘Munni’ too . “Why should I mind? Whatever is good for the film has to be finally taken care of. I am sure Arbaaz will discuss this with me. It is my film too. And we will always prefer giving our best to the audiences. I feel repetition does not work for a film,” quips the co-producer.
Talking about her fondness for item numbers, Malaika says, "I have just completed the item song ‘Anarkali Disco Chali’ for ‘Housefull 2’. And I am happy that the song has already become a rage. Honestly, I prefer doing few songs in a year so that the charm remains. I do get a number of offers for sexy, peppy and foot taping item numbers, but I only choose the one I feel good about. I believe too much of everything is not good.”
