19 new hotels in Middle East, Africa and India by 2020

FRHI Hotels & Resorts (FRHI), a hotel management company, on Tuesday announced it will open seven new hotels in the Middle East, Africa and India (MEAI) region and plans to double the number of hotels it operates in the region by 2020.

“We currently have 19 existing hotels in MEAI region and we plan to double the size in the region by 2020,” Jennifer Fox, President, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts said at a conference held during the Arabian Travel Market 2014.

“It will be a mini destination. Works has commenced in Al Jaddaf and we are very bullish of having it ready in the next three years,” Rami Moukarzel, Vice President, Development, Middle East and Africa, told Emirates 24/7.

FRHI will partner with Citystars for a project in Sharm el Sheikh which will have three new hotels and a signature golf course being built in Egypt’s Red Sea coastal city.

In Nigeria, the FRHI will open Fairmont Lagos having 220 guestrooms and suites, 50 residences.

“This is the first of what we hope will be many exciting announcements for FRHI in the year ahead, as we continue to focus on opening new luxury hotels and growing our brands in key strategic markets,” said Glennie.
