Schön Properties, a Dubai-based developer, expects 5,000 to 7,000 new jobs to be created by companies operating in its Schön Business Park in Dubai Investment Park (DIP).

“We expect that the business park will create between 5,000 and 7,000 jobs,” company Senior Sales Director Noorul Asif said on Wednesday during the opening ceremony of the park.

Eighty per cent of the units are sold to third parties, while 20 per cent is being retained by the developer for recurring income, he added.

The business park, launched in 2007 and located close to Expo 2020 venue, has two basement levels with 1,300 parking slots; a ground floor with over 72 retail outlets and three floors of 304 offices. A total of 4,581,750 kilograms of steel and 30,000 cubic meters of concrete were utilized in creating the building, which comprises over 1.6 million square feet.

Dubai Expo is likely to create 277,000 jobs.

Established in 2006, Schön’s flagship project is Dubai Lagoon. The total area under the company’s development has a market value of over Dh7 billion and comprises 8.5 million square feet in the emirate.
