This years' AMF theme stems from its core mission to catalyse the advancement of media in the Arab world.

The 13th edition of the forum, deemed the most prestigious media event in the Arab World, aims to explore unfolding new trends in the field of media as it seeks to outline the future of the industry in the region. AMF 2014 aims to gauge how media outlets in the region are adopting new technologies that drive the global development of the industry.

Mona Al Marri, Director General of the Arab Media Forum Organising Committee, said: “The theme of the AMF 2014 encompasses the main outlines of topics to be discussed during the sessions. This year’s edition will examine development necessities in the media industry in light of new technologies, and will shed light on how new trends are challenging conventional media, thus altering text-book definitions and principles in this field.”

As AMF 2014 endeavours to identify essential areas that require development in the industry, Al Marri added, “Creating a platform that gathers the finest of media personalities, intellectuals and executives in the region, the forum will attempt to draw key outlines for advancing the industry in the years to come.” “An important aspect of development is to raise the bar of professionalism and creativity to satisfy the audience’s intellect and gain their trust,” she concluded.
