19th edition of DUPHAT Conference and Exhibition opens

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group, inaugurated the 19th edition of the Dubai International Pharmaceuticals & Technologies Conference & Exhibition - (DUPHAT) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Sheikh Ahmed was accompanied by Eng. Essa Al Maidoor, Director General of Dubai Health Authority, and a number of local and international representatives and heads of delegations.

Following the traditional inauguration ceremony and the ribbon-cutting, Sheikh Ahmed announced that Dubai will host for the first time the International Family Medicine Conference and Exhibition (IFM) which will be held next year in conjunction with DUPHAT Conference and Exhibition. The IFM will attract an enormous number of specialists in family medicine, general practitioners and primary health care.

He also congratulated the organizing committee for the success achieved by DUPHAT Conference and Exhibition since it was launched, he also emphasized that DUPHAT is a continuing education forum and platform for professional interaction and scientific discourse. He also had a tour in the exhibition and explored the latest pharmaceutical technologies displayed by national, regional and international pharmaceutical industry players.

He was impressed by the continuous growth that DUPHAT achieves every year, he also said that this tremendous turnout reinforces the role of Dubai as a regional hub for major international companies who are looking forward to promoting their products from Dubai to the Middle East and the World Markets.

Essa Al Maidoor, Director General - Dubai Health Authority said: "The DUPHAT Conference and Exhibition takes place in a time where the medical sector is witnessing a tremendous and rapid development within its subsidiaries in general and the pharmaceutical field in particular. The pharmaceutical sector has become a vital sector in the medical field which effects highly on the therapeutic process and assists in providing integrated services for patients." Al Maidoor added: "The DHA has been diligent to support this event throughout the years, and we believe that DUPHAT is the first of its kind in the Middle East, North Africa and East Asia regions. DUPHAT has become very popular among pharmacists and specialists working in the pharmaceutical field and its technologies. DUPHAT is growing year after year along with the accelerating development in the medical field which highlights the imperative role of the pharmaceutical field."

This system will help monitoring and organizing the consumption of medicine in Dubai in general and will also enhance applying the uppermost standards of quality and excellence in the pharmaceutical sector. Dr. Ali Al Sayed also mentioned that DUPHAT is marked by the outstanding professors, specialists and professionals who come to take part in this event from: USA, Canada, UK, Netherlands, Japan, Belgium, France, Sweden, Australia, KSA, Egypt, Qatar, Libya, Iraq, India, Oman and Sudan.

Dr. Ali continued: "This year, the DUPHAT conference will host more than 20 scientific sessions and 30 workshops in addition to 450 scientific posters whom are prepared by students and specialists. Moreover, DUPHAT will present more than 27 scientific presentations delivered by students of pharmacy." "DUPHAT this year will host spectacular activities; 12 presentations will be present during the three days of the conference and delivered by the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society, there will also be a special workshop feature from KSA, a full day workshop about medicine economics, four presentations by medical companies in addition to four management workshops," continued Dr. Al Sayed DUPHAT Conference and Exhibition plays a significant role in terms of increasing the investments in Dubai and also in attracting foreign investments to Dubai, in addition to attracting experts and pharmaceuticals from all over the world to this outstanding event.
