Emirates Transport auctions 189 vehicles for Dh2.7 million

The Emirates Transport (ET) Used Vehicles Sales Centre sold 189 vehicles during its 52nd auction, raising Dh2.7 million in revenue.

The auction was held at the Sharjah Industrial Zone and featured 78 vehicles and equipment belonging to ET and another 111 vehicles entered into the auction by external clients, including the Ministry of Finance and Sharjah Transport as well as members of the general public.

Salman Mohammed Ibrahim, Manager of the Used Vehicles Sales Centre said: “These auctions conducted by the centre reflects the constant care and attention given by the corporation to modernising its fleet of vehicles and buses that have exceed their operational life.”

The types of vehicles sold include industrial-purpose vehicles, pick-up trucks, four-wheel drive vehicle, saloon cars and buses.

Ibrahim said the next auction will be held in the Musaffah area of Abu Dhabi, at the beginning of October, and is expected to feature 175 vehicles.

Emirates Transport operates nearly 11,000 vehicles.
