Emirates Transport (ET) has began providing technical inspection services for about 2,260  Dubai Municipality (DM) vehicles, through a mobile vehicle testing station.

Mohammed Ahmed Al Buraiki, Manager of ET’s Center for Technical Inspection "Aman", said the recently signed agreement with DM comes after the marked success of similar scheme in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region, which have been taking place since the service was first introduced in 2007.

Al Buraiki said the mobile testing station can complete a vehicle test and give a result in 15 minutes, and is available on official holidays, offering companies and institutions savings on time and costs.

As an added note, he also stated that ET is looking to establish new technical examination centers in various areas in the Northern Emirates in the coming months.

Ibrahim Al-Mulla, Head of Dubai Municipality Administrative Support Section, Transportation Department, said his department contracted Emirates Transport because it is a national leader in the field of transport, offering excellent technical and maintenance related services.

He added that the mobile screening station will examine approximately 30 vehicles a day, including health and agriculture vehicles, light and heavy vehicles, and various machinery and motorcycles of the municipality.

Al-Mulla praised the record screening time of no more than two hours a day, two days per week, adding that his department receives the result of the examination on the spot, a copy of which is then also uploaded into the system of the Roads and Transport Authority.
