France-based Rexel IPG, which focuses large capital projects in sectors like oil, gas & chemicals, mining & metals, power and infrastructure, has established a new office in Dubai to strengthen its services to engineering, procurement and construction companies (EPCs) in the Gulf region.

Dubai is Rexel IPG’s second office in the Middle East, after the opening of an office in Saudi Arabia.

“We see strong potential growth on large projects in the Middle East, with Western and Asian EPCs very active there,” Simon Thorpe, Director of Operations, said.

“Having a team of professionals in Dubai with product and technical expertise closer to customers is key to best serve their projects across the Middle East,” he said.

John Kaznowski, Middle East Regional Director, said: “We were already serving EPCs for their large projects in the region, so with this additional footprint into the Middle East, we can accelerate our local activity and keep developing tailored solutions to always meet –and even anticipate– our customers’ requirements.”

In May 2014, Rexel was awarded a contract by one of the world's largest integrated petrochemical facilities in Saudi Arabia, and is now working with most EPCs involved in this project.

The total amount invested in this project reaches more than $20 billion.
