More than 300 new jobs have opened up with Dubai’s Al Futtaim Group across its different business divisions. The company is looking to hire candidates for a number of its brands, including Famco and Ikea, and for several of its divisions including motoring and investment management business, watches and jewellery, mechanical electrical and plumbing projects, retail and logistics business, among many others.

Most of the positions advertised are within the UAE but there are vacancies in other countries as well like Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait.

Current and former employees give the company 3.5 stars out of 5 for job work/life balance, 3.25 for management and salary/benefits, and 3.75 for job culture and job security/advancement, according to job search engine www.indeed.com.

“Result oriented atmosphere and co-operative colleagues”, “progressive regional business”, “challenging place where we can learn a lot”, “diversity, growth and reputation” and “most transparent workplace,” are some of the pros of working here as reviewed by employees.

Long hours and distance from home are some of the cons that employees state in their anonymous postings.

The closing dates for the jobs vary with some open until September. Interested candidates can apply online at www.afuturewithus.com.

The company warns candidates against fraudulent employment opportunities. All candidates are advised to go to the company website to apply for vacant role.

“We will only hire you if we have discussed a role with you over the phone or face-to-face. Therefore, an offer of employment without any interview is most likely to be a fraudulent offer. If you have never applied for a job vacancy with us, you should probably suspect you are the target of fraud if you receive an unsolicited employment offer,” reads the company website.

The company employs more than 44,000 people and operates through more than 110 companies and represents more than 225 brands across industries like retail and wholesale trading, distribution, financial services, real estate development, and leisure and hospitality.

The company now has businesses beyond the GCC and Greater Middle East to countries within Africa, South East and North Asia, Australasia and Europe.
