Global market research firm and electoral pollster Penn Schoen Berland (PSB) has launched its operation in the Middle East with headquarters based in Dubai.

Addressing a press conference in Dubai on Tuesday, Don Baer, Worldwide Chair and CEO of Burson-Marsteller and Chairman of PSB, said the company will hire four researchers and analysts who will oversee the projects and other research works on behalf of the clients while offices in other cities will also assist Dubai team if needs be.

Founded in 1976 in New York City, PSB has eight offices worldwide and boasts clients like former US President Bill Clinton and the former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Joseph Ghossoub, Chairman and CEO of the Menacom Group, the regional parent company of Asda’a Burson-Marsteller, said the company will be outsourcing research or survey projects.

Sunil John, Chief Executive Officer of Asda’a Burson-Marsteller and PSB Middle East, said this region where research into public opinion is still limited, PSB Middle East will improve access to reliable data on audience and customer perceptions and help communicators in government, business and civil society deliver more effective and strategic campaigns.”

“We identified markets for research and Dubai is number one… last 5 years have been difficult for the corporates but we see 2014 as the first year of transformational growth,” John said.

He said there is shortage of data and research is always about data so that decision makers can make correct and timely decisions.

“PSB will play a crucial role in this regard to provide analysis and data to decision makers,” he said adding that “PSB has methodologies which were successful and we are bringing that to the boardrooms here.”
