RAK Airways recruiting flight, airport staff

RAK Airways, the youngest carrier of the UAE, has launched a recruitment drive to fill a number of managerial and other vacancies including the posts of Captains and First Officer.

The airline is recruiting A320 Captains, A320 First Officer, International & Government Affairs Specialist, Customer Services Agent (Bilingual), Airport Service Duty Manager, Pricing Analyst, Sales Executive and Drivers (Heavy Bus and Car).

All the jobs – some of them on permanent contracts, are based in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. A spokesperson said the airline is on a “progressive growth path and is building its human resources strength from the best professional talents in the industry.”

The spokesperson, however, refused to disclose the exact number of employees of be recruited during the campaign.

RAK Airways currently flies to nine destinations and is increasingly frequencies to Pakistan and Bangladesh.

“RAK Airways is operating to nine destinations including Kathmandu, Calicut, Doha, Jeddah, Dhaka, Chittagong, Peshawar, Lahore and Cairo.With the summer schedule of 2013, the airline increased its frequency to Peshawar and Lahore in Pakistan and Dhaka in Bangladesh with three
weekly flights,” the spokesperson said.

The airline said the A320 Captains should be less than 55-year old and have experience of 5,000 hours of flying time. While A320 First Officer should also be below 55-year with 1,000 hours of flying time to be qualified for the job.

Bilingual Customer Service Agent should be graduate and able to maintain the service standards of Call Centre and provide efficient and friendly service for all reservations, fares, ticketing or telephone queries.

Pricing Analyst will have to plan, develop and recommend pricing strategies through a competitive pricing framework, determine reactive pricing and reactive measure towards competition, market conditions and/or sustaining market share, determine fare distribution channels to maximize revenue, and ensure accuracy and efficiency of fare filing.

Role of the sales executive is to achieve the area sales revenue target through an assigned group of retail travel outlets and commercial houses, evaluate and report all market trends, changes, trade and competitive activity, complete agency & corporate performance reports accurately and effectively, ensure the implementation of the annual marketing plan within area of coverage, manage the day to day activities necessary for direct sales to clients, and monitoring of competitors’ activities and feedback relevant market intelligence to support tactical decision making.
