Renault Middle East sales jump 15%

Renault Middle East recorded 15 per cent sales growth across the GCC, Iraq and Levant countries in the first five months in 2013, thanks to 4x4 Duster, Fluence and Koleos, said a press statement on Thursday.

At the end of the period ending May 2013, Renault sold 6,885 units across the Middle East, it said.

Renault was ranked the 1st European Brand in Saudi Arabia and Oman.

Renault’s 4x4 best-seller Duster multiplies its worldwide popularity also in the GCC. Duster gains 1 position, ranking number 4th in the SUV-S segment.

In the GCC, Renault is the 4th European brand in the region with Fluence in the top 20 highest selling C segment cars and Renault Logan in top 10 highest selling cars of the B segment.

In the UAE, Renault registered 42 per cent increase in sales in the first five month. It won 3 positions in the ranking of automotives brand compared to 2012 and becomes 7th in the European brand ranking.

Renault, in UAE, holds close to 10 per cent segment shares in the SUV-S category. Within the SUV-S category, the Duster keeps the top position as the highest selling Generalist European car in the country, and the 5th highest selling car. The Renault Koleos registered 12 per cent increases in sales compared to the same period in 2012, the automobile firm said in a statement.

In Oman, Renault recorded 11 per cent sales growth and confirmed its first position as European brand. The brand takes the top 3 positions among European cars in the order of Renault Fluence, Duster and Safrane. Notably, the Duster is the 4th highest selling SUV-S model in the country.

In Kuwait, sales grew by 9 per cent compared to same period in 2012 and Renault earns one position in the European Brand ranking.

In Saudi Arabia, Renault has been ranked as the number one European brand and confirmed its best-selling models - Logan, Duster and Fluence - among the top 5 highest selling European. Renault has continued to expand its commitment in the country with the opening of a new showroom in Riyadh, bringing the total number of dealership to nine.

According to a recent consumer satisfaction survey on the performance of automotive dealerships, conducted by the Ministry of Commerce in Saudi Arabia, Renault ranked second best among a host of competitors in the nation.

In Iraq, Renault Middle East registers a substantial 183 per cent increase and in the Levant countries, Renault posts a 16 per cent increase driven by exceptional results in Jordan (589 per cent).
