Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has secured orders worth more than $1 billion during the Dubai Air Show, demonstrating the strength of its portfolio of advanced technology and access to growing global markets.

The Trent 700, which has the best performance, lowest emissions and least noise on the Airbus A330 aircraft, continued to win orders and passed another important milestone with delivery of the 1000th Trent 700 engine, to Cathay Pacific Airways.

Saudi Arabian Airlines ordered Trent 700s for up to eight A330s and Garuda Indonesian Airlines ordered Trent 700s to power four A330s, in addition to the six they ordered last year.  All will be covered by TotalCare  long-term service support agreements. Rolls-Royce has now received orders for over 1,400 Trent 700 engines.

Oman Air selected the Trent 1000 to power six Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The Trent 1000, which is the quietest and most efficient engine for the 787 Dreamliner, has been selected for eight out of the last nine engine competitions and last month powered the first 787 Dreamliner commercial flight with All Nippon Airways (ANA).

Rolls-Royce also won a share of an order from Thai Airways International for V2500 engines to power five purchased and six leased Airbus A320 series aircraft, reflecting the continued market leadership of the V2500 engine. More than 4,800 V2500s have been delivered, with nearly 2,000 on order and close to 200 customers around the world.

As part of the Group’s commitment to training and education within the UAE, Rolls-Royce signed a long term leadership training agreement with The Emirates Group to provide an innovative leadership and business management programme for talented UAE National managers. Rolls-Royce also supported Futures Day, which exposes young people to the diverse career opportunities available across the aerospace industry.
