Rosewood Abu Dhabi on Monday became the first ultra-luxury hotel to open in Al Maryah Island, the new Central Business District (CBD) of Abu Dhabi.

The hotel, the fourth Middle East property managed by Rosewood, including Al Faisaliah Hotel and Hotel Al Khozama in Riyadh and Rosewood Corniche in Jeddah, will have 189 rooms and suites, 58 serviced residences and 73 residences for long-term lease.

“The vision for Al Maryah Island has always been for the development of a vibrant urban community supported by leading businesses from around the world,” said Ali Eid Al Mheiri, Executive Director, Mubadala Real Estate & Infrastructure.

“The presence of an internationally renowned hotelier like Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, coupled with their innovative Sense of Place values, reinforces the core essence and world-class amenities that this district has to offer.”

Luigi Romaniello, Managing Director, Rosewood Abu Dhabi, said: “Rosewood Abu Dhabi exemplifies the Rosewood Sense of Place philosophy through a distinct and personalized luxury lifestyle experience in the heart of Abu Dhabi. With the recent opening of The Galleria, and continuous developments around us on Al Maryah Island, the district is truly becoming an elite luxury lifestyle destination.”

Rosewood Abu Dhabi has nine signature restaurants and lounges including Aqua, a 24-hour Northern Italian and Mediterranean restaurant, Spice Mela, a modern Pan-Indian restaurant, the Hidden Bar, a cozy lounge with an extensive beverage selection, Sambusek, a vibrant Lebanese restaurant, Smoke, Sambusek’s shisha terrace, La Cava, an exclusive sommelier cellar, Majlis Lobby Lounge, the hotel’s living room, and Glo, a glamourous open-air lounge, Catalan, Abu Dhabi’s first Catalonian restaurant.

The hotel features eight fully equipped conference and event spaces including a ballroom which can accommodate up to 1,000 guests, pool and gym facilities and Sense, A Rosewood Spa.

Al Maryah Island forms a key component of the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council’s Capital 2030 Plan.  Located at the midpoint between Abu Dhabi's existing downtown and new residential districts, Sowwah Square marks the completion of Phase 1 of Al Maryah Island’s development and an important milestone in the government’s strategic urban development plan.
