Wasel is, but post-paid is not free for life: etisalat

Etisalat has reiterated that the free lifetime validity is currently active on all Wasel connections.

“The offer is not just for some selected numbers. It is active on all Wasel prepaid subscriptions. It is not applicable to post-paid subscriptions,” a spokesperson of Etisalat told Emirates 24|7.

Several readers of Emirates24|7 had written in to report that they were not being given the lifetime warranty for some reason or other.

However, the etisalat spokesperson clarified that all those Wasel users who have not received an SMS or whose phones have been inactive for a while, will get the benefit.

“Those whose phones have been inactive need to send an SMS or make a phone call for the activation of lifetime validity,” he said.

Etisalat recently announced "free lifetime validity" allowing its Wasel prepaid customers to maintain their Wasel subscriptions without having to renew again.

The free lifetime validity will be applied automatically and does not require Wasel customers to subscribe to it. To keep their Wasel lifetime validity benefit, customers need only make one charged call or send an SMS from their Wasel accounts within three months.

“There are some who have redirected their wasel connections to other fancy numbers. These people will have to switch on their sim cards and use it once,” he added.
