Airline staff armed with a Windows 8 powered tablet will ariive as you are standing in queue and check you in . All you will have to probably do is drop off your bags at the counter.

Microsoft Gulf and flydubai made the announcement about the use of the Windows 8 application at Terminal 2, Dubai International airport, which has been the home base of the airline.

“We are confident this new product (tablet-based App) will help make our customers’ journeys easier…. will help us reduce peak waiting times at check in for our customers at Dubai airport,” Alex Mackenzie, flydubai’s Senior Vice President Airport Services, said:

The App connects to the airline’s backend services and is integrated with a passport scanner and printer.

“The Windows 8 App developed for flydubai is a regional first, enabling staff to check-in passengers on-the-go,” said Michael Mansour, Directors of Apps and Innovation at Microsoft Gulf.
