Dh4.4 billion mega hospital with 719 beds taking shape in UAE

Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) has completed 32 per cent of Al Ain Hospital, which will be handed over to Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA).

“The new hospital will provide integrated medical services to everyone living in Al Ain City in accordance with latest international standards and practices in the area of health facilities,” said Mohamed Al Shuweihi, Musanada’s Healthcare Acting Director.

“This will help to enhance the healthcare sector in Al Ain city and the emirate of Abu Dhabi in general, while addressing the needs of the growing population of that region.”

The hospital’s concrete and steel structure has been completed, along with the primary substation which is being handed over to Al Ain Distribution Company. The main refrigeration equipment have been installed at the utility building along with 25 per cent of the façade work.

The Dh4.4 billion hospital project is located at Al Jimi in Al Ain city, and stretches over 347,000 square metres. It consists of the main hospital building, a 1,500-parking facility,  a logistics centre, a 60-MW primary substation, as well as other facilities and advanced medical treatment services that will meet the needs of the community in that area. It will also include 104 advanced specialised clinics, 17 radiology rooms for X-ray, CT Scan and MRI services, as well as 22 specialized rooms for endoscopy procedures and diagnosis.

The hospital will be supplied with medical and technical equipment keeping in pace with latest advances and developments in the area of diagnosis and treatment, providing more assurance of a successful and comfortable treatment process within the minimum timeframe.

The hospital project will have 719 beds, including 484 beds for general medicine, surgery, children’s ward and maternity, 67 for ICU, 142 for medical rehabilitation, and 26 for VIP patients and royal suites.

Al Shuweihi indicated that the building will have a unique aesthetic, architectural and health specifications that will provide distinguished treatment services to community, representing a significant move in this critical sector, featuring this new medical facility as a healing oasis.

“It has been designed according to sustainability criteria that significantly reduce energy and water consumption and make full use of energy from the sun’s rays. Furthermore, the design employs the latest international medical standards that provide an ideal environment for healing and comforting illness, while simultaneously taking into consideration the privacy and traditions of the UAE.

“Furthermore, the design incorporates features to meet future healthcare requirements, such as expansions, in order to provide patients with high-quality healthcare services,” he added.
