Dubai hotels booking out for New Year’s Eve

New Year’s is an extremely busy season for Dubai hotels, and it should come as no surprise that almost four months before the year turns over, the city’s most popular luxury hotels are already fully booked for the last evening of 2014.

Dubai is indeed a luxury destination, and there is no dearth of people willing to spend on the finest hotels in the city. This demand, however, has overtaken the number of guests that the most popular brands in the city can accommodate.

Arguably the most prestigious of the emirate’s numerous celebrated hotels, Jumeirah Group’s Burj Al Arab is fully booked for the night of December 31, 2014.

Similarly, rooms are fully occupied for the night in other prominent 5-star hotels like Zabeel Saray, Madinat Jumeirah and Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

In addition, all rooms are fully booked at The Palace Downtown Dubai and alternate properties within the group, which includes The Address Downtown Dubai, The Address Dubai Mall, The Address Dubai Marina and The Address Montgomerie Dubai. These hotels have no room availability on December 31, 2014, and January 1, 2015.

It’s not possible to make bookings for Park Hyatt either. “The hotel is not available for your requested travel dates. It is either sold out or not yet open for reservations,” reads the message while trying to make an online booking.

Atlantis, the epicentre of last year’s celebration, has no bookings available for the night. Instead, the hotel has levied restrictions on the period closer to New Year and only a minimum of 7 night stay can be booked.

A couple willing to spend a week in the hotel, and checking in on Christmas (December 25) and checking out on January 1, 2015, will have to fork out a minimum of Dh20,610 (Deluxe Room), with the package going up to Dh55,550 for the week in case you opt for the Regal Club Suite.

One&Only The Palm will also not take bookings for just the New Year’s night. It has a minimum 10-night stay whereas it is a minimum of 5-night stay at One&Only Royal Mirage.

So is the case with Armani Hotel, Dubai. Guests are not permitted to spend one night and only a minimum of 4 nights is required for this stay.

And while there are options still available at some other five-star properties like the Habtoor Grand Beach Resort and Spa and the Grand Hyatt, rooms are filling up fast so it’ll be wise to book now if you have plans to usher in the New Year at one of Dubai’s plush hotels.
