Dewa launches DhD30 million water pipeline project in Hatta

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has launched a new water pipeline project in Hatta, in line with its focus on enhancing its infrastructure and meeting the growing demand for its services across Dubai.

Valued at Dh30 million, the new project includes the planning and laying of new water pipe distribution networks ranging in size from 100-450mm in diameter, and over a total length of 30 kilometres.

“Led by our vision to become a sustainable world-class utility, Dewa is effectively contributing to the social, economic, and environmental development of Dubai by providing uninterrupted supplies of electricity and water.

“The objective of the Hatta project is to raise the efficiency of water distribution networks in the area, and strengthen water supply to meet increasing demand. This will contribute to consolidating Dubai’s position in the region, and promote sustainable development,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dewa.

“The project includes the extension of water distribution pipes ranging in size from 100 to 450 mm in diameter. We have completed 10 percent of the total so far, and we aim to deliver water to the expanding residential areas in Hatta shortly,” added Al Tayer

The project is expected to be completed within 14 months as per schedule. Dewa has also recently awarded the contract to commission and supply a main SCADA system for water, to remotely control all data and monitor the main water network in Dubai.
