Dubai Chamber explores investment opportunities in Angolan market

Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, Board Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), has called on businesspersons in Dubai to head to African markets deemed future business markets, noting that the Angolan market is promising for UAE investments.

Al Ghurair made the remarks during a meeting organised by the DCCI in cooperation with the Embassy of Angola.

The move is part of the DCCI initiative: "Investment Opportunities in Promising Markets", aimed at boosting competitive abilities of members and introducing them to potential investment opportunities in new markets.

He referred to a host of investment opportunities in Angola in areas of transport, infrastructure, construction and tourism, the very areas Dubai Companies have an extensive experience and could contribute to the economic development in Angola.

Angola ranks 37th in the list of Dubai trade partners. Non oil trade between Angola and Dubai stood at Dh6.7 billion last year, while the imports from Angola touched Dh4.5 million. The exports and re-exportation from Dubai to Angola stood at Dh2.2 billion.

The meeting was attended by senior Angolan officials, including Angolan Ambassador to UAE Flavio Saraiva De Carvalho Fonseca.
