Inflation in Dubai rises 0.45% in July on higher food, beverage prices

Inflation in Dubai rose 0.45 per cent in July compared to June, driven by increases in prices of food and non-alcoholic consumer products, according to Dubai Statistics Center (DSC).

In its monthly report, the DSC said prices of beverages rose 2.62 per cent, housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels increased 0.42 per cent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco up 0.24 per cent, while restaurants and hotels inched up 0.05 per cent.

The report also noted that the prices of miscellaneous goods and services dropped 0.56 per cent, furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance fell 0.21 per cent, transport 0.08 per cent, communications 0.04 per cent and health 0.01 per cent.

Prices of other groups, the report added, remained stable.
