Some KIA cars are being recalled in the UAE due to a possible stop lamp switch. The company has made an announcement for the recall of vehicles that may have this problem.

“In coordination with the Ministry of Economy – Department of Consumer Protection – and in line with the keenness of the Ministry of Economy to conduct an ongoing review of all products in the UAE and provide the consumer with the required protection, Al Majid Motors Co; The sole distributor of KIA vehicles in UAE, announces a recall for 2007-2011 Opirus, Mohave, Optima, Sportage, Cerato and Carnival vehicles,” the company said in a public announcement.

The campaign is aimed to replace ‘stop lamp switch’ to ensure its optimum operation assuring that failure of the switch shall effect the brake lamp only, not the operation of the whole brake system in any manner.

Al Majid Motors Co request all customers who own 2007-2011 Opirus, Mohave, Optima, Sportage, Cerato and Carnival to check if the last ten digits of their vehicle identification number (VIN) fall in the range specified by the company.

The VIN appears VIN on the plate attached on the driver’s door – jamb, and on a plate fastened to the top of the dashboard on the driver’s side or from the back of the traffic registration card.
