Limitless awards Dh285m contract for Downtown Jebel Ali infrastructure

Developer Limitless has awarded a contract worth Dh285 million for infrastructure work at its Downtown Jebel Ali mixed-use project in Dubai.

Under the contract, signed on Sunday, UAE-based Arco General Contracting will carry out  community infrastructure work – including roads, sewerage, utilities and lighting – in all four zones of the development, to prepare land plots for handover to third party developers.  Mobilisation will begin immediately, with work due for completion by the end of 2017.

Mohammed Rashed bin Dhabeah, CEO of Limitless, said: “The award of this contract is a step forward for Downtown Jebel Ali. We are delighted to welcome Arco on board.”

Downtown Jebel Ali spans 200 hectares and stretches 11km along Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road. The project has more than 300 third party plots, on which investors will build a mixture of apartments, hotels, offices and retail developments. Located between Jebel Ali Free Zone and Techno Park, the development is accessible from Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Zone 1 can also be reached by the Dubai Metro.

Limitless itself has delivered The Galleries at Downtown Jebel Ali, a business and retail community in zone 1. The Galleries currently features office facilities and retail outlets, with residential units coming soon.
