Mona Al Marri opens international jewellery show Vicenzaoro Dubai

Mona Al Marri, Director-General of the Government of Dubai Media Office and Chairperson of Dubai Women Establishment, today inaugurated the second edition of the International Gold Jewellery Show (Vicenzaoro Dubai), in the presence of Helal Al Marri, Director-General of Tourism & Commerce Marketing and Director General of Dubai World Trade Centre Authority.

The event, being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from April 14 to 17 2016, is designed to serve as a unique networking platform for the jewellery business community, is organised by DV Global Link, a joint venture between Fiera di Vicenza, Italy’s leading organiser of jewellery events, and DWTC.

Mona Al Marri said during the inauguration of the event that Dubai is well positioned to be a regional hub for retail sector, given its strategic geographic location and world-class infrastructure, along with a deep rooted tradition in gold and jewellery trading tradition.

She also said that specialised exhibitions offers an excellent opportunity to network with local and international industry peers, and learn key trends in the industry.

Helal Al Marri said that the exhibition is an important opportunity to further cement Dubai’s position as global capital of the jewellery industry, covering Arabian Gulf, Middle East and North Africa, Russia as well as Central and South East Asia regions. He also said that international brands also aims to benefit from Dubai’s brand to grab all the opportunities in order to diversify their business.

Committed to offering the highest standards in terms of quality and research, the event offers exhibitors the opportunity to present their latest exclusive collections to the most qualified international operators, buyers and visitors from four strategic markets: Middle East, Eurasia, North and East Africa, Central and South Asia. New designs reflecting the latest industry trends will be showcased at the event.

Vicenzaoro Dubai is designed specifically to cater to business communities in the jewellery, gold, precious stones and diamond industries. The platform is mainly targeted at the B2B sector; however, the last day will be open to visitors on the occasion of ‘Jewellery Celebration Day’.

A key highlight of the opening show was a presentation by Trendvision Jewellery + Forecasting, Fiera di Vicenza’s independent think tank for trend forecasting which took place at the Vicenzaoro Dubai Welcome Lounge. Visitors were invited to consult with the think-tank’s editorial publications: The Trendbooks, Consumer Profiles and Product Directions.

For the first time in a jewellery trade show, talented local designers, who represent the future of the country’s jewellery industry, will showcase their creations to professional buyers.

This year’s Vicenzaoro DUBAI is supported by key strategic partners including Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group (DGJG), Gem Jewellery Export Promotion Council India (GJEPC), among many others.
