Emirates Post announced that following an agreement they have started accepting fees of trade licenses issued by Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) from Wednesday.

DED customers can present the payment slips to any post office in the UAE and pay the required fees at the postal counters. The postal employee will record the transaction through a real-time link between Emirates Post and DED. Customers can also ask for a printout of the trade license at the post office counter.

The postal counters will accept payment slips for a variety of services, including renewal of trade licence, issuing of a new trade licence and modifications to a trade licence.

"Emirates Post's extensive network of more than 110 post offices will offer a high level of convenience and ease to DED customers to make payments for their trade licence through our state of the art IT systems," said Abdullah Mohammad Alashram, CEO of Emirates Post. "We are delighted to partner with Department of Economic Development in an effort to ease the lives of customers. This represents yet another important addition to the bouquet of government services we provide at post offices."

Sami Dhaen Al Qamzi, General Manager, DED said: "The Department of Economic Development is committed to enhancing services available to customers, in line with its vision to uphold the highest standards of customer satisfaction. Through our agreement with Emirates Post, DED has maximised its channels of reaching audiences, serving as a one-stop shop for all business needs." Emirates Post offices offer extended timings to enable customers to complete their transactions. The postal network is being expanded continuously to meet the rising demand of the UAE population and corporates.
