Region’s best cars awarded at MECOTY

The world’s leading car brands took centre stage at the recently concluded third edition of the Middle East Car of the Year (MECOTY) awards. The night’s leading winners were Volvo and Audi, which won the JURY COTY & PUBLIC COTY awards respectively, whilst top brands including, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Mercedes, Honda, Toyota, Lexus, Cadillac, Land Rover, Ferrari, McLaren and Volkswagen were among the winners announced in an exciting and stunning gala awards night, attended by top officials from all major automotive brands.

The awards were held alongside the first edition of International Motor Show Abu Dhabi and the highly popular 2nd Custom Show Emirates, which concluded recently after attracting over 40,000 visitors in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The Volvo XC90 winning the ‘Car of the Year’ and ‘Best Mid-Size Premium SUV’ awards, Emre Karaer, General Manager at Volvo Cars Middle East and North Africa said: “We would like to thank the Middle East Car of the Year committee and Jury panel for awarding the XC90 with two prestigious awards.
