Road show for 118th Canton Fair held in Abu Dhabi

UAE businesses and residents were invited to attend the 118th China Import and Export Fair (also known as the Canton Fair), to be held from in Guangzhou in China from October 15 to November 4.

A road show or promotion conferene for  this forthcoming fair was held at the Holiday Inn in Abu Dhabi on August 31.

The 117th Canton Fair, which concluded on May 5, 2015, attracted 184,801 buyers from 216 countries and regions. The fair drew 24,000 suppliers to exhibit over 150,000 kinds of products.
     
The Canton Fair, established in 1957, is co-hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the government of Guangdong province and organised by China Foreign Trade Centre. It is held every spring and autumn.

 In the past few years, trade between China and UAE have steadily increased. . UAE mainly imports electronic products, recording equipment, cameras and iron and steel products from China and exports plastic and copper products to China. For UAE, China is the second largest trade partner and for China, UAE is the second largest trade partner in the Middle East, excluding oil and oil products.

China is hoping for more trade and investment in the fields of energy, industry, agriculture and infrastructure in partnership with UAE.
