Shashi Tharoor will not stop tweeting

Former UN under Secretary General Shashi Tharoor, who had earlier lost his ministerial berth following corruption charges involving his Dubai-based wife has been reappointed as minister in the Indian government’s latest cabinet reshuffle.

Tharoor has been appointed as the new Minister of State at the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
 
Speaking to a private TV channel after the swearing in ceremony Tharoor said most controversies involving him were the creation of the media.
“The work of the ministry is very crucial. We have about 525 million Indians under the age of 25. The ministry will play a critical role in their development and thereby the development of India,” he said.
 
Tharoor, who was the former minister of state for external affairs, had to resign within an year following allegations that his girlfriend at that time, Dubai based Sunanda Pushkar had obtained a sweet equity from a new defunct IPL Franchisee.
 
Tharoor later married Sunanda who now mostly lives in India.
 
Commenting on the IPL controversy he said, “Forget about 70crores we have not seen even 70 paise,” he added.
 
Tharoor who also faced a lot of criticism for his tweets where he addressed airlines treating passengers like cattle class said, he would continue to tweet.
 
“I am not a Facebook guy. I am more of a twitter guy and I will continue to tweet,” he said in an interview to NDTV.
