Turn to Central Asian markets: Dubai Chamber chief

A senior official in Dubai has urged business community in the emirate to move towards the markets of Central Asia and the Caucasus and expand their presence in this promising region that offers rewarding investment opportunities, especially in the sectors of energy, construction, financial services, logistics and transportation.

Addressing a Country Focus Briefing, Director General Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Hamad Buamim added that the success of any company and its development lies in its ability to create and innovate, exploit new opportunities and expand into promising markets.

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) in association with the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kaznex Invest, the Kazakhstan National Agency for Export and Investments, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kazakhstan organised the Country Focus Briefing on Kazakhstan at the Chamber premises today.

With its aim of providing access while enhancing the competitiveness of Dubai Chamber members in emerging markets, the briefing was held to explore new trade links with Kazakhstan, one of Central Asia's largest economies.

Among those who attended the event were Askar Mussinov, Kazakh Ambassador to the UAE and Sabr Yessimbekov, President Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. A number of businessmen and investors from Dubai and Kazakhstan attended the session.

The National Agency for Export and Investments of Kazakhstan gave an introductory presentation on the investment opportunities in Kazakhstan.

Launched in 2010, the Dubai Chamber initiative of the Country Focus Briefing is organised in association with embassies, consulates, business councils, trade centres and representative offices of target countries.
