Emirates NBD Deputy CEO resigns

Abdul Wahed Al Fahim is also chairman of Nasdaq Dubai

Dubai-based Emirates NBD, the country’s largest bank in terms of assets, said in a statement to the Dubai bourse that its deputy chief executive has resigned to focus on private business ventures.

The bank said Abdul Wahed Al Fahim’s resignation was effective as of yesterday but didn’t say who would replace him.

Al Fahim, who is also chairman of Nasdaq Dubai as well as a director on the board of Dubai Aluminium Co., had been with the banking group since 1986, and was appointed deputy CEO in May 2009.
