LPG cylinder prices slashed again in the UAE... but where?

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company for Distribution (Adnoc Distribution) has announced further reduction in prices for the refilling of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders at its service stations in the Northern Emirates including Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain.

With immediate effect, the price of refillable LPG cylinders of 25 lbs capacity has been brought down to Dh50, down Dh4 from the previous marked retail price of Dh54. The company has also reduced the price of refilling the 50 lbs capacity LPG cylinder that is available only at Riffa station in Dibba-Fujairah to Dh100, a reduction of Dh5 from the earlier marked price of Dh105.

Earlier this year, Adnoc Distribution reduced the price of refillable LPG cylinders of 25 lbs capacity to Dh54, down Dh7 from the previous marked retail price of Dh61. The company also reduced the price of refilling the 50 lbs capacity LPG cylinder to Dh105, a reduction of Dh17 from the earlier marked price of Dh122.

Khalid Hadi, Vice-President of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Adnoc Distribution, said: "We are pleased to announce further reduction on the prices of LPG cylinder. This step is the second that Adnoc Distribution has initiated during the first two months of 2014. The reduced prices, which reflect the shift in prices of LPG in global markets, emphasize our commitment to our widening base of customers in the emirate of Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Moving forward, we will continue to explore areas that offer added convenience to our consumers.”

Adnoc Distribution currently provides more than 3,000 subsidized 25 lbs gas cylinders daily at its service stations in Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Moreover, holders of Rahal ‘E-Gas’ cards in the Northern Emirates are authorized to get subsidized gas cylinders.  Rahal ‘E-Gas’ is issued free of cost by the company at Adnoc Distribution’s offices in Sharjah or at select Adnoc service stations across the UAE.
