Etisalat has launched three new channels from India’s Times Television Network – Times Now, ET Now and Zoom – in the UAE as part of the eLife TV Asian Choice Basic package.

“At Etisalat, we always endeavor to provide the most refreshing and relevant content to our esteemed customers. The addition of these new channels will further enrich our bouquet of services, while offering unmatched entertainment to our viewers,” said Humaid Rashid Sahoo, CEO, e-vision.

Earlier this month at Gitex 2011, Etisalat announced the launch of eLife TV, which is delivered on a high-speed fiber-optic network, and offers more than 350 TV channels in 21 languages in addition to over 30 high definition (HD) channels.

The company said that nearly 100,000 homes were subscribed to the new eLife TV service at launch, with an automatic upgrade of the existing set top boxes.

“Etisalat has been a pioneer in the world of telecoms and entertainment, providing rich content to TV viewing customers in the UAE for over 11 years. Over the years, we have keenly listened to our customers and enriched their home entertainment as per their changing lifestyles,” said Matthew Willsher, Chief Marketing Officer, Etisalat.

Times Television Network reaches over 100 million viewers every month in India and is making its maiden foray in the UAE with the launch of these three channels.

“The launch of our channels in the UAE now extends our international reach to 26 countries worldwide. Dubai is a large and important market since it has a significant Indian population and we are happy to partner Etisalat for our launch. The channels feeds will be open for advertising shortly and we look forward to helping brands use the opportunity to reach out to the Diaspora,” said Sunil Lulla, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Times Television Network.

The channels will prove to be popular with the large and affluent Indian and South Asian communities in the UAE, where they will be able to receive the latest breaking news, analysis, business updates and Bollywood entertainment from back home with India’s leading channels.
