The Etisalat service was temporarily disrupted amidst report that the website has been hacked.
The news of the hack first broke on Twitter. According to images posted on twitter the homepage was replaed by images with Chinese characters.
But the Etisalat homepage www.etisalat.ae is currently back online. Yet anyone trying to access the website e4me.ae or the trying to log into the Etisalat payment service are being getting an error message on the screen.
Although there has been no official comment from Etisalat on the issue, a customer care official said that there could be a technical issue that is preventing users from accessing the web service.
“You can try after a while,” he said. When specifically asked if the website has been hacked he said, “We are not aware of any such incidents,” he said.
