FutureCard to supply 9m Nol smart cards to RTA

FutureCard, the UAE-based company involved in design, manufacture and customisation of smart cards, said it has been awarded a contract by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) for the supply of 9 million Nol smart cards.

Within the framework of a public call for tender process FutureCard was selected out of five vendors for the supply of RFID “fare” cards which can be used to pay for travel on the metro, buses, water buses and paid parking provided by RTA.

The contract is effective as of July 1, 2014, covering a period of two years.
