Kerzner International, an international developer and operator of destination resorts and luxury hotels including Atlantis, One & Only and Mazagan resorts, aims to hire around 7,000 staff for its upcoming properties, said a senior company official.

Suresh Menon, Executive Vice-President for Human Resources at Kerzner International, said the group would require approximately around 6,000-7,000 people from 2016 onwards for its properties in China, Saudi Arabia, Montenegro and other countries.

Menon said the Atlantis Sanya, China, may require about 4,000, One & Only Sanya about 1,000 and One & Only in Saudi Arabia will have around 1,000 staff.

Menon also revealed that negotiations are underway for a few properties in the region, but the talks are in the very initial stages.

“There are few things in the pipeline and negotiations are going on. We’re talking to various people about properties here and Bahrain. It could be between three-four properties. There are talks but not yet signed,” Menon said.

Kerzner International sold its 50 per cent stake in Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai to resort co-owner Istithmar World, a unit of Dubai World, for $250 million in April 2012 as part of its comprehensive restructuring plan.

Kerzner last month chose Ramco’s cloud-based HR & Talent Management Software which will be implemented across nine countries covering over 10,000 employees.

The company is also in the process of moving some of its operations to Dubai.

Joe Tesfai, Senior VP, Information Technology, Kerzner International, said: “We started moving operations in the Q4 of last year; the infrastructure is complete, technologies have been moved successfully.

“It’s all virtual technology which makes it easy to migrate to move. We have moved 30 people here. There are few more coming over in coming months.”
