Leaked iPad mini: Slimmest Apple gadget ever

iPad mini is likely to be the slimmest apple gadget ever. A leaked sample of the iPad mini – Apple’s response to Samsung Note - reveals that the 'mini' would just be two-thirds the size of the current iPad.

Techblog gottabemobile.com has posted orange coloured images of what could be the mould used for making covers for the iPad mini. It clearly indicates a much thinner design and sports a much smaller docking port, like the one believed to be used for iPhone5.

Although there is still no official confirmation from Apple if it indeed plans to build a smaller iPad. However, if the company decides to go for one, it might go with the smaller port.

According to the blog, the pictures have been obtained from a trusted source in China.

According to the blog, a pixel count of the new leaked image, thanks to Photoshop revealed that the iPad Mini should be around 213.36mm tall and about 143.67mm wide.

The position of the speaker is also set to change as according to the leaked image, the mini will have two speakers placed around the dock connector, similar to the iPhone4S. Currently all iPad’s have just one speaker and they are rear facing.

Therefore, going by all the rumours and speculations that have appeared so far about the iPad mini, the device would have a 7.85-inch display with 1024×768 resolution. It will be slimmer than the current iPad, with a smaller docking port.

Apple could fix a price range of anywhere between $250 to $300.

Although the release dates are still not clear, it could debut along with the iPhone 5 this fall.
