An (alleged) engineering sample of what is touted to be the iPhone 5 has surfaced from a 'trusted source' in China. It show the new mobile to be slightly taller, slightly thinner and about the same width.

Tech site, Gotta Be Mobile released an image of the engineering sample of the new iPhone 5.

The images indicate that the new device would be slimmer and taller compared to the iPhone 4S.

The tech blog also reveals that the new phone will have a rear-facing microphone near the flash and the camera will be located on the top-left back of the device.

Earlier rumours have claimed the new iPhone will have a larger 4-inch display in an effort to compete with the Samsung S3, a smaller dock pin, apart from A6 Quad core processor along with 4G LTE.

Samsung’s flagship device the Galaxy S3 highly rated to be the iPhone killer among android users runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with a dual-core processor and has 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED screen apart from a 8MP rear and 1.9MP front facing cameras.

Die-hard Apple fans can pre-order iPhone 5

Do you want to pre-order your new iPhone? A Chinese dealer has gone a step ahead and has displayed advertisements suggesting that it will soon start taking pre-orders for the new iPhone - that has not yet been launched by Apple.

The advertisement clearly indicates iPhone 5 in bold letters although the image looks like that of an iPhone 4S.

A google translation of the Chinese blog  mentions that many domestic dealers in China are coming up with the new advertisement of the new iPhone.

It also says the expectation for the iPhone 5 has increased following a statement from a Taiwanese supply chain for Apple that an August launch is on the cards. Otherwise, most reports are suggesting that the Apple release could be sometime in September or October this year.
