Bugs expose iPhone vulnerability

Apple is trying to fix multiple bugs in its iOS6 operating system, which allow anyone to break through the pass code lock and even bypass institutional user restrictions.

The bug enables any user to bypass the pass code lock on an iPhone running iOS6.1 and allows the intruder to not only view details of your contact details but also allows them access to your call history, and even make calls.

The vulnerability was recently discovered and one of the tech blogs even uploaded a video demonstrating how it can be done.

Emirates 24|7 tried and cross-checked the information and found that you can hack into a phone that uses both a four-digit simple pass code but also where users have set alphanumeric lengthy passwords.

Also, by trying to share the contact and using the message application, one can easily access the photo albums as well.

According to reports, Apple is working on trying to fix the bug.

It recently updated the iOS6.1 to iOS 6.1.1 to fix issues with 3G performance of the iPhone 4S. Last year it had updated iOS6.0.1 for iPhone5 fixing various bugs such as the one that prevented the phone from installing software updates wirelessly over the air, another one that rectified a dysfunction in the camera flash and even a pass code lock bug that at times allowed access to Passbook pass despite the phone being locked.

Apple introduced a new update through iOS6.0 where an organization could prevent a user of one of its devices from installing unauthorized apps into the device.

Meanwhile, in what could turn out to be a headache for institutions and organizations that have distributed iPhones and iPads to their clients and installed user restrictions, a new security bug has emerged that allows users to do just that.

Here is yet another video that has been uploaded onto YouTube that explains how any user can bypass those restrictions through some very simple steps.

Users will still be able to log out of the secure account and log into their own account through the App Store. According to reports, Apple is working towards securing this as well.
