Personal Finance: When you think you’re at a dead end…

This is a very serious situation to find oneself in and the only way to overcome this problem is to take stock at the highest level. One key piece of advice is not to take advice from someone who has no experience.

Consider this hypothetical situation…

1)      You never took creditor calls at all because of fear; and because of lack of money you were unable to make any payments.

2)     You never took the time to communicate with your creditors, asking for extra time and promising to meet the payments in the near future.

3)     You changed your contact numbers and place of employment so no creditor could contact you.

4)     You lost your job, were too embarrassed to explain your situation to your creditor and got too busy trying to secure another job. But to date, you have not been successful so you are still unemployed.

5)     You found that legal action was taken and that put you into a worse state of mind. So you blocked it all out with a tiny ray of hope that somewhere along the line in the future, there would be a way out.

6)     Now you are in a catch-22 situation where no matter what you do, you just do not see a clear solution.

The fundamental reasons that people find themselves in these situations are due to continually absorbing the fear and negativity that they are exposed to and nothing could make them change their mind that the situation could be better. So you just continued blocking out any thoughts that could make you think about the reality that was facing you and now you are trying to find a way out of this situation. Perhaps you do not even have your own home and are being helped by friends and strangers but that, too, has its limitations and it is just a matter of time, when all doors will be closed.

I am not a bearer of bad news, my intention is to jolt you to what you are facing right now and this is a serious issue. We can run but we cannot hide and at some point we need to take responsibility for our actions. I always encourage debtors to look away from reality first and implement daily practices to transform our inner self, so the outer can change. If we can do that, we will experience things we never dreamt possible.

Your only job is to shift your way of thinking to the positive.

So my ultimate advice is:

·         Start with 20 minutes of daily breathing in a quiet place where you can hear your own long breaths. This will release resistance. You have just been piling the negative into your body, with no release valve so imagine what is going on inside your body? Have you thought about that? Don’t you think it will surface somewhere else at a later date, affecting your health? Health is important so you must take heed and follow these processes.

·         Daily record in a journal, what you are grateful and thankful for, because there must be many things that you can say ‘Thank you’ for, even if it is the small room you are living in, the food you have to eat, the bed you have to sleep on… the list goes on. We forget all these privileges that many people dream to have in this world. We are so busy focusing on what we don’t have instead of what we do have.

·         Write another list of things that you want and you have to get into the habit of feeling as if you already have those things. And do it every single day.

·         Be nice to people, compliment someone when you have the opportunity, say ‘Thank you’ to someone who does something nice for you. Why? Because when you can change the way you do things and look at things, you also change your environment and what you call into your life. Do it from your heart and feel that love and appreciation for everything you do and receive.

·         Find the most expert person in the domain where your problems exist and seek their advice when you are in this mode and you will see, good things and good people will come your way. The most positive situations will present themselves when you least expect.

·
If there is a dire situation you must face, go and face it with a clean heart filled with love and light, the strength and willingness to overcome and it will be easier for you. I am not saying you will walk out of this situation unscathed, perhaps there is a lesson for you to learn and you need to embrace that lesson with love and understanding that you will gain the strength to see you through.

Acceptance of receiving whatever we have created is a key component to our transformation, because once we emerge on the other end, things look different, things are different, we are different and so you have just transformed a full circle for and of yourself. Being scared and full of fear is just going to continue bringing more of the same and your only job is to change that, so you can experience what belongs to you, what you were born for and that is your legacy.

We all have a legacy, we all have roads to take with trials and tribulations but if we learn how to use tools that are free of cost, effectively apply them to our lives, then the journey is simplified and the doors that would otherwise be closed, would be open for us and we would experience what we were born to enjoy.

You must learn to be passionate about yourself, about your progress, about gaining that inner strength and finally overcoming no matter how bad it gets, it never remains dark.

Lessons must be taken to serve us so one day we can look back with a smile and know that it formed part of the sediments in our character today. People who run and walk away have no substance because it is the easy way out and you don’t have to be that lesser person. You can be the strong person you know you were born to be, so avoid being a defeatist, because life can be good when you have character and integrity.

Nobody is an island so I urge you to read this again and do what you need to do, for you.
