Samsung vs Apple: New Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet to take down iPad Mini

Also planning two other devices to hit back at competitors

It is all but known that Samsung will release its Galaxy S4 before the launch of the next iPhone this year.

However, in newly available information, the South Korean tech giant is also planning two other devices to hit back at its competitors.

Samsung is planning to go after the iPad mini with its own Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet.

According to a report in Sammobile, the Note 8.0 will have a 1280×800 TFT (Super Clear LCD) display, 5 megapixel back camera, 1.3 megapixel front camera, 2 GB RAM, a more powerful 4600 Mah battery and run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The website also says the new Note 8.0 could be released as early as next month during the Mobile World Congress.

The 8-inch device is clearly aimed at taking on the iPad Mini which Apple released to take on Samsung’s 7-inch tablets.

Samsung now plans to hit back with a device that could score against the iPad Mini in terms of a superior display and an added feature of S-Pen.

The iPad Mini was released with a display measuring 1024-by-768 resolution, much lower than the Retina Display of the iPad 3.

However, Apple too is already working on the next generation iPad mini and according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the next iPad Mini will have the same Retina Display that is there on the iPad 3.

The note also adds that the mini would be released during the third quarter along with the next edition of the 9.7-inch iPad.

Samsung is hoping that that its Note 8.0 would score against the iPad Mini, thanks to its impressive S-Pen.

If that is not sufficient, the South Korean tech giant is planning to release an all-new Galaxy Note 3 powered by the superfast eight core processor.

According to Korea Times, Samsung is planning to release Galaxy Note 3 with a much larger 6.3-inch display and powered by a massive eight core processor.

The latest Exynos chips is more powerful than the current quad-core processors and further enhance the battery life.

Note 2 with its 5.5 inch display was already considered too big to hold in ones hand. It needs to be seen if the 6.3 inch tablet will be accepted with open arms.
