How often do you check Facebook? According to a new research an average of 14 times a day, for two minutes and 22 seconds each time.

According to the research conducted by IDC, sponsored by Facebook an online survey was taken of 7,446 18- to 44-year old iPhone and Android smartphone owners over the course of one week in March.

The total daily average mobile time you spend on Facebook via your smartphones is half an hour.

Peak Facebook time is during the evening, just before bed and on average, Facebook is visited 13.8 times during the day, for an average of little over two minutes each time.

The gym is one of the most popular places for people to check Facebook, with 48 per cent accessing it from there and 47 per cent while preparing a meal.

While Facebook comes in as the third most popular app on smartphones, after email and browsers, 79 per cent of smartphone users check for their devices within 15 minutes of waking up.

A majority - 62 per cent - grab their phones immediately. Around 70 per cent of smartphone users are frequent Facebook visitors, with more than half of them checking it every day.
All users in the survey were based in the US.
