Camping enthusiasts have a reason to smile.

For all those who very often end up in the desert without proper firewood and not sufficient charge on the phone – here is a perfect solution. Small bits of twigs can not only be used to cook a meal but also to charge your phone.

Biolite’s Campstove (https://www.biolitestove.com/) can cook meals with very little firewood or even twigs and is quick to light, fast to boil and clean to use.

By converting heat from the fire into usable electricity, the stove will recharge the phones, lights and other gadgets while dinner is being cooked.

According to the website, open wood fires are inefficient, wasting potential energy and creating toxic smoke due to incomplete combustion.

The stove is carefully designed and uses fans to blow air into the fire thereby improving combustion.

Since such stoves require small amounts of electricity to power their fans and most people who cook on wood are without grid or battery access the stoves solve this problem by converting a fraction of the fire’s thermal energy into electricity to power the combustion improvement system.

Excess electricity is made available to users for charging small electronic devices such as mobile phones, LED lights, GPS and many others.
