Cosmic alert to Muslims: Memorise prayer direction if depending on magnetic compass

A G2-class geomagnetic storm reported by Nasa started yesterday which may last until October 29, 2013, according to TIMEZ5, the firm that claims to be the world’s first health and wellness company addressing Muslim lifestyle needs through innovation.

At the time of writing this article, Emirates 24|7 could not confirm the news with Nasa as it had been impacted due to the US government shutdown, and its website too was inaccessible.

According to a Timez5 media statement issued on October 3, 2013, “In the early hours of yesterday, during the testing of a new undisclosed product at the TIMEZ5 labs, a unique discovery was made. An electro-magnetic device used to test this new product gave inconsistent results. When reporting consistent results of this erratic nature; scientists working on the project came to a screeching halt.

“After backtracking major possibilities, one of the former Nasa scientists working on the project consulting former colleagues was surprised to find out about the early arrival of an expected magnetic storm.

“Fascinated with the impact on the product testing scientist quickly realized that many Muslims are going to have navigation problems in satisfying their obligatory five prayers a day. Aside from that a long-duration storm may cause transformer damage and disrupt radio broadcast in some parts of the world,” it noted.

While Muslim households will obviously know their usual direction of prayer, problems could arise for those travelling or away from their usual workplace or home.

“Scientists at TIMEZ5 labs advise Muslims to simply remember the direction by using the same or similar places as they usually do when praying outside mosques. They also advise if you’re lucky enough to live in a location where you can see the storm you might get a dazzling experience to remember,” it notes.
