Asian man snatches wallet from shopper

A Pakistani distributor allegedly snatched wallet from a shopper, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
 
On April 29, at around 7.30pm, MA, Bangladeshi worker and a friend headed to the souk (market) at the labour accomodation in Al Muhaisna 2.
 
"As I pulled out my wallet to pay for my purchases, someone from behind snatched the wallet containing Dh2,020, my labour ID, bank and health card, and money transfer cards. We ran after him and caught him until police arrived,” testified the victim.
 
SA, 38, Pakistani, denied stealing the wallet and after searching him did not find anything on him.
 
Police officers, who arrested the accused, noted that he was barefoot.
 
The accused denied the theft and court has been adjourned till August 9.
