Kuwait seizes captagon worth Dh300m

Kuwaiti counter-narcotics units seized nearly 25 million captagon pills worth KD25 million (Dh300m) hidden inside a container shipped from Turkey.

Newspapers said the shipment arrived in Shuwaikh port in the oil-rich Gulf emirate and was watched by police after receiving information it contained illegal items.

The container, which was registered as cleaning agents shipment, was then moved to its destination in the country.

Three days later, Salim Al Balaat, a 28-year-old Syrian came to take delivery of the shipment, the papers said.

“As he was checking the shipment, counter-narcotics units were waiting for him. They arrested him,” ‘Al Watan’ daily said.
