10-year-old girl groped in hotel swimming pool

A 33-year-old Lebanese manager allegedly groped a 10-year-old girl when she was swimming with him in a hotel pool, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The victim’s father, FM, 36, Emirati, had gone with his wife and daughter to a hotel in Dubai.

“While I was with my wife, the maid called us telling about someone who had molested my daughter who was swimming in the hotel’s pool under her supervision. I rushed to the pool and saw my daughter looking scared and confused. The maid pointed at a man in the swimming pool, saying that he was the one who had molested my daughter. I called upon the hotel security staff who caught and held him until police arrived.

“Then my daughter told me that while she was swimming, the man approached her and started asking her name and whereabouts of her parents... While he was asking her, he groped her private parts..She got scared and pushed him away from her, got out of the pool and told the maid,” the father told investigators.

The court will reconvene on October 12.
