An Abu Dhabi court sentenced 16 Indians and one Pakistanis to between seven months and seven years in jail for killing a Pakistani man and trading in liquor.
The court sentenced four to seven years and ordered them to pay Dh200,000 diya (blood money) for the victim’s relatives after they were convicted of murdering the man, according to Albayan newspaper.
It said the court sentenced 13 other defendants to seven months in prison for trading in liquor and ordered the deportation of all defendants after completing their jail terms.
