3 robbers of bank clients held in Sharjah

Sharjah police arrested three Afghans who came to the UAE on a visit visa to rob bank clients, taking advantage of what they said was a business upsurge in the country.
Police said the three confessed to have stalked many people withdrawing funds from banks and managed to rob some of them.
The three resorted to tricks already used in the UAE by puncturing the client’s car tyre or splashing oil under the vehicle so the owner would step out and repair the damage.
One of them then would come and offer help while another would sneak into the car and snatch the money, police said.
“They said they had come to the UAE on a visit visa at this period of time to take advantage of a business upsurge as many people withdraw money out of banks for Eid Al Adha,” a police source said, quoted by Emirat Alyoum daily.
