4-year old drowns in Al Ain house pool

A four-year-old Emirati boy drowned at a swimming pool at his house in the eastern oasis town of Al Ain just minutes after he was playing with his brothers and sisters.

After a childish argument with his younger sister on Sunday, Mohammed left the family company and went to the back garden at their house in the southern Mazeed neighborhood as he used to do whenever he is upset, his uncle said.

But this time he apparently changed his mind as he sneaked to the swimming pool adjoining their house, the uncle told the Arabic language daily Al Khlaeej.

“The pool is fenced and the gate was locked at that time, but it is as if death wanted to open up all doors for him. He finally managed to reach the pool and went in,” he said.

“When we felt his absence after nearly 10 minutes, we began looking for him. We later found his body inside the pool. It’s a real tragedy as the boy was just playing with his sister and other family members.”
