6-member gang of diesel robbers held

Sharjah Police has arrested a six-member gang of robbers of diesel dealers.

Police said the gang of Pakistan nationals, claiming to be policemen, used to beat and tie up guards with ropes before robbing diesel. 

A number of police stations in Sharjah had received similar complaints from victims of robbery by this gang.

One of the members of the gang was first arrested and he revealed the names of other gang members and their future plans for robbery, police said.

The other five members of the group were nabbed with help from Abu Dhabi Police and Al Ain Police.

Five members of the gang did not have papers to prove their identity, police said.
